Once you download that file, open the 'windrv-SDK8-x64.zip file and copy the contents to a USB drive. The Windows 10 installer will be able to use those files to find the virtual drive you created with the RAID controller and install.
Pros: I'm happy that it works, and is relatively easy to use. No hang-ups, even for a first time RAID card user. Cables are very flexible and it really helps when setting things up. Card has more features than I need, and it's priced well.
Cons: Maybe it's the firmware, the driver, or WHS 2011----but it can be very slow. With write caching disabled, may as well be on dial up to transfer files. Even with write caching enabled, it still falls short of the max transfer rate I've seen on other O/S servers I've built. It could be the drivers, firmware, drives (although I've seen better speeds with the same WD Reds when using zfs), or even the O/S.
My read speeds are at above 350MB/s, and below 400MB/s. Write speeds were painfully slow. All tested with HD utilities from the server, not through the network.
I hope it's just an issue with the WD Red drives- I expected more from a standalone RAID controller, even if it is a lower end unit than the commercial grade stuff many of the IT admins here use.
Other Thoughts: Updating drivers and firmware can be challenging for a noob; I still don't know if I'm using the latest because the website is informational overload. I wish I had bought the card with two cable adapters so I could better implement RAID the configurations this product offers.
Pros: Great speed and reliability for the price! You can get about the same for about $100 more with the competition. Supported in FreeBSD and Linux kernels.
Cons: The BIOS setup is somewhat lacking in terms of features and interface but gets the job done. Making sure firmware up to date is a must. But these are to be expected and are definitely not show stoppers.
Other Thoughts: I first bought one of these in 2009 and it has been on ever since. First with 4x WD Raptor in RAID10 -- great! Then 4x Hitachi 2GB in JBOD for FreeNAS -- great! Now 4x Intel SSD in RAID0 -- great!

Comments: Great product but be sure to use enterprise rated drives. Do so and you will be happy. Use a cheaper drive and you will not be so happy.
3ware 9650se Raid Controller Driver Vmware Update
This concerns a server that runs ESXi (v. 4.x or 5.x) installed on drives that are configured into a raid10 using an LSI 3ware 97050 raid controller.
I would like to know if there is a way to monitor the LSI 3ware series of controllers, in particular the 9750, through ESXi. And to hopefully also run the monitoring daemon LSI provides.
I know you can set up a cronjob to execute tw_cli through ssh on the ESXi server. However that's not really ideal.
I am not using vcenter by the way. It would be nice to have more than just monitoring working, since the 3ware software has a very useful web client, besides tw_cli.
3ware Raid Controller Drivers

vCenter has some pre-built alerts that will catch hardware failure on (most) hardware. This will show up as an alert in the vSphere Client, and can also send out a trap to a listening host.
It looks like the only way to monitor this 3ware raid controller through ESXi is to enable ssh access on the ESXi server, install tw_cli on the datastore (not in places such as /opt because it won't survive a reboot) and set up a daily or weekly cron job to run something like:
And have the result emailed to you. Which cron should do automatically. You can enhance it with grep and whatever else works to only email you in case of an alarm. Make sure to copy your ssh key so you don't need to provide your password. You will have to repeat this after the ESXi server reboots.
This has the added benefit you can also manage the raid using the tw_cli tool through an ssh session.
